Decon-It

DECON-IT^® is an innovative surface decontamination product, free of 1-4 Dioxane, that helps extend the life of monitoring equipment, pumps, hosing, PPE, and related field equipment. DECON-IT^® Plus has realized increased usage for industrial cleaning, demolition waste decontamination, to AST, UST, and Barge tank cleaning applications. DECON-IT^® can decontaminate a broad range of surfaces, including metals, composites, plastics, glass, and wood.

Decontamination made easy

DECON-IT® was scientifically developed as a technology advancement from the award-winning Ivey-sol^® technology platform to specifically create a more effective broad contaminant based surface (i.e. stainless steel, metals, plastics, composites, wood) decontamination product for field monitoring equipment, to sampling pumps, to drilling equipment, hosing, oil spill booms, and related investigation and remediation equipment.

It meets the following:

PFOA & PFOS, 1-4 Dioxane, Dioxin, and Furan Free.
Readily biodegradable to three international standards.
pH neutral, non-corrosive and non-caustic.
Effective on a broad range of petroleum hydrocarbons and chlorinated solvents.
ASTM D5088 - Suitable for use in accordance with Standard Practice for Decontamination of Field Equipment Used at Waste Sites.

Field Equipment Decontamination

DECON-IT® is very effective for the decontamination of field equipment used for vapour, soil and groundwater monitoring and sampling at active investigation and remediation sites (i.e. Water Level Meter, Product Probes, Low-Flow Samplers, Hand-Held Vapour Meter, Direct-Push Probes, etc.). In addition to out-performing competing products, in terms of speed, cost, and efficacy, it is well suited for use in accordance with ASTM D5088-02 (2008) Standard Practice for Decontamination of Field Equipment Used at Waste Sites. It is also applicable for the ASTM D5608-10 Standard Practices for Decontamination of Field Equipment Used at Low Level Radioactive Waste Sites.

Tank and Vessel Cleaning

For storage tank and vessel cleaning, DECON-IT® is an operator’s choice; being non-flammable, pH neutral, non-corrosive, non-caustic, and its use does not generate additional PPE or HS&E precautions. Clients are pleased with the VOC reduction rates for tank entry, and how it expedites tank wall and tank-bottom sludge cleaning, while minimizing the volume of oily waste water generated. This results in significant time and cost savings, while bringing storage tanks back on-line, more quickly, for increased production capacity. Applications include: Above and below Ground Storage Tanks, Oil Barges, Vessel, Rail Cars, off-shore drilling platform fuel-holds, to utility transformer cleaning.

Commercial and Industrial Cleaning

DECON-IT® use is increasing within the commercial and industrial cleaning sectors. Contractors are performing a broad range of cleaning and decontamination applications using DECON-IT®, from surface and machinery decontamination, to storage tank cleaning, to odor control. They are also removing stains and contamination from concrete, oil from oil booms, cleaning utility transformers, and decontaminating personal protective equipment (PPE). DECON-IT® is a first-choice for these applications given it is safe to use and does not cause harm to equipment or personnel.
